Detecting and Categorizing New GMOs : Scientific evidence

The French health authority, ANSES, publicly released an enlightening opinion on December 21 regarding the central component of the new European regulation on new GMOs. This pertains to the section of the text that distinguishes between the two types of new GMOs: those that will be broadly deregulated because they are considered to have possibly arisen naturally, and those that will remain under the control of the current regulations for GMOs.

To discuss and exchange views on the impact this report will have on the European Commission’s text on new GMOs, i invite you to participate in the webinar scheduled for Wednesday, January 17, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM.

The event will feature Michael Antoniou, Professor in Molecular Genetics at King’s College, London, and a member of ENSSER, as well as Matthieu Schuler, Deputy Director of Anses.
