Blocage de la publication et de l’audition de l’ANSES : le député C Clergeau demande des explications au Parlement européen
« Invités lors d’un webinaire le 17 janvier, l’Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire de l’alimentation, de l’environnement et du travail (ANSES) nous annonçait que son avis complet était finalisé et prêt à sortir. Mais depuis, elle n’a pas pu le publier. Nous nous interrogeons : qui bloque la publication ? Quelles sont les raisons de ces blocages du côté français ? Le gouvernement français doit nous donner des réponses », alerte Christophe Clergeau.
« L’ANSES a été invitée par la Commission de l’environnement, de la santé publique et de la sécurité alimentaire à présenter ses conclusions lors d’un échange de vue au Parlement européen. Son audition, prévue cette semaine, a été reportée sine die. Ceci confirme encore nos inquiétudes. », précise Christophe Clergeau, chef de file des socialistes sur le dossier des nouveaux OGMs.

New GMOs: is Minister Fesneau the ANSES censor?
« When speaking as my guest during a webinar on 17 January, the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) announced the imminent publication of its finalised opinion on New GMOs. But since then, this publication has been endlessly deferred. We wonder: is the Minister for Agriculture blocking the release of this opinion? Has he become the ANSES censor? Is Mr Fesneau afraid of the full opinion’s content, after its first part was released last December and heavily criticised the weak the scientific foundations of the European Commission’s proposed legislation on New GMOs, a legislation the French government now openly supports? »
« ANSES was invited by the European Parliament’s Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety to present the conclusions of its opinion during a public hearing. This hearing, scheduled for this week, has now been postponed sine die. Is this decision a result of the French Government’s veto? » pondered Christophe Clergeau, lead negotiator on New GMOs for the Socialists & Democrats group in the European Parliament.
« In their efforts to force through the commercialisation of New GMOs with little to no regulation and monitoring, proponents of New GMOs systematically claim to support science. It appears that when science is critical towards their position, its loses all standing. »
